Bale Mega Sragi – A Tribute to Traditional Elegance
Inspired by Java’s rich architectural heritage, Bale Mega Sragi is a bamboo-built pavilion that blends tradition with modern sustainability. Completed in 2023, this 56 m² structure was designed by IBUKU Studio and engineered by Ketut Yasa to provide a functional yet aesthetically refined space. Reflecting the cultural essence of Pekalongan, the structure utilizes bamboo to create an inviting and climate-responsive environment. As part of the Ministry of PUPR’s initiative, Bale Mega Sragi demonstrates how traditional craftsmanship can be adapted for contemporary public spaces while preserving ecological integrity.
